The Solution
Like many older sites, WES was difficult to navigate. With an inflexible system, WES had to create new pages to accommodate content changes and then look for a place to house them. When the rebuild began, there were hundreds of orphan pages throughout the site, making it extremely difficult to find information.
Our first step was to completely revamp the navigation, creating pathways for all of their different visitor types, including existing families, prospective families, and potential staff. Planning included strategy meetings with key stakeholders to understand their growth strategy to create a plan for growth so that the site remained organized.
A bright, fun appearance was a core component of the redesign, and we wanted the colorful pages and imagery to be easily replicated by WES staff as new pages were added. As part of the content strategy, we created custom content blocks that WES can use to design new pages, an area to post news and announcements, the ability to add and remove staff, and a separate section for critical announcements, such as weather closures.
